The thing I want to do most now is to go to a beach, just lie down there, and look at the sky...
Its tuesday already, or rather wednesday le to be exact. 4days passed since start of break, 5days left. No of work I did: 1chpt of reading. No of things left: 17. shit...what am i doing here??? haa.. waiting for real madrid vs juventus haa..die die...

Anyway, just to update here, after all, if im not doing schwk, then i must be doing something right? So ya, had a class outing on monday, og outing on tues.
Was at cineleisure for the class outing, watched bayside shakedown 2 there, a jap show, think its quite nice, but then now i cant find the part 1, cos spore nvr sell, if want to buy have to ship from overseas, which will be quite ex. Anyway, I was the first one there, and everyone else was late lor. why ppl have to be late and not feel guilty huh? sporeans really no sense of time nowadays. Sometimes i went out with my friends, i had to deliberately make myself go late one lor, and even when i do that, i can still be the first one there, damn shitty lor. Anyway, after tt they went to furqan hse, while i had to go off, miss the chance to go his hse sia, heard they say this big tt big haa...but no choice la, rushed back to ntu for dinner with my vball friends. another regret there, everyone else was there cept me, sianz man...missed the chance to play. but then again, my performance was really bad for the past few sessions also, lost my self confidence n everything, even thought of giving it up, but then i wont la, i still like vball, and i want to play it well!

Woke up early yest morning, n met my og mates for trekking. as usual, ppl are late damn... really damn irritating...anyway, we trekked to the treetop suspension bridge, really nice view there, thought tt it was worth it. Nice place to be at when you are not really in a good mood. really peaceful.

Think i will end here, do a bit of readings b4 the match. taaz...

Finished 2 quizzes today. First was the sociology quiz, and it was really stupid lor. cos its like a week ago, the tutor emailed us and asked us to prepare for 4 questions, which are the major topics in the text. Then today when he flashed the questions, out came the exact same 4 questions, and everyone was like huh?!@ 50 mins to write 2 essays, definitely not enough for me, didnt really manage to finish the essay, and dont think its well done also, but nvm its ok.

next is the econs quiz, and I got full marks for it haa... kinda make me happy for a while, or maybe leave me satisfied or relieved too, cos keep telling myself that i want to get full marks, after hearing that benny got it too, and 5% of the ppl get full marks. but think i was kinda lucky, cos my questions are not tt hard also, unlike rong cos i dunno how to ans her qn, and huishi one i also dunno.

Anyway, the recess week is here le, was looking forward to it, though have many assignments to do during this period also, and lots of readings to catch up. This is unlike last sem, when i seldom touched the textbooks at all. more hardworking? ya, but still not to my fullest extent, like yesterday i sat in front of the computer playing football manager for the whole day, more than 8hrs. Or maybe this is just inate in me, cos like sem nearing exam i was also playing ps2 everyday. I dont really derive fun from playing games nowadays, just a way to keep me occupied, somemore i seldom watched tv le too, max only an hour a day.

They showed a documentary clip after the socio quiz today, about a village in kasmir in india, where they talked about the process of modernization in the village. In the past, they were self substantial, meaning they grew their own crops, and the whole village was very interdependent and close. During time of harvest and seeding, they asked their neighbour to come over to help them, and in return, helped them back too. They treated each other to meals instead of monetary rewards, in fact, no financial transactions take place in the village. The village have animals, which was taken to graze by different families taking turns. One of them said that the villagers was the real economists, forget about the modern economist, cos the villagers use and take care of the environment, and humans, animals, plants are all inter related. They live a simple life, and the most important thing, they are HAPPY.

20years down the road, the village hit by modernization, people unable to find any job, ppl with no houses, trucks polluting the air, waste lies anywhere. Puma shoes, michael jackson infiltrates their homes. They have an influx of material goods. People leave the agriculture life and opts for a paid salary. They depend on the outside world for their basic necessities and water. Man goes to work, and children goes to school, leaving women at home. Kerosene become a way of life. They are no longer as happy.

As an interviewee said, she had a sister living in the urban area, and she saw a lots of inventions like stove, washing machine etc that supposedly help to reduce the working time, and yet when she visited her, she dont even have time to talk, whereas in the past, only 4 months was used for agiculture and it can last the whole year, they have plenty of free time everyday.

This film sorts of reminded me of the movie 'The Village', which i thought was pretty interesting. In the movie, a group of people decided to leave the urban lifes, and live in a village where they cut themselves off from the modern society.

Anyway, the point i want to drive is, Are you happy? My tutor posted this question in class, and only one person raised her hand. I didnt raise mine. Its quite subjective I know, but how to be happy? As with the previous film, materials benefit may make u happy for a while, but what can truly make you happy?
In another report, Nigerians are among the poorest in the world, but are the happiest. Why? Have this advance and modern world, where we constantly pursuit material gains make us unhappy? Just like what a friend of mine said, flowers given by her bf can make her happy for the whole week, and when nothing was given, she was sulking all the way. Why? Are materials really that all important??

Happiness is not what you gained, but what you are satisfied with. Stop your pursuit, slow down your footsteps, and look around you.

More money is not more happiness. The people around you is happiness. They are the ones truly important.

Looking at my dog, he wiggled his tail whever I called his name. That is happy.

Think.
Smile :)
and Be Truly Happy!

Its chu san already. Nothing much to talk about the festive days also, cos I dont go bai nian one. yes, I've been staying home all this while. Boring? ya.. the only good thing about it is an excuse not to do any work, tts why I pretty much wasted my holiday again.
And ya, theres plenty of movies that came out during this period too, and theres a lot that I want to watch also. Basically I wanna watch these films: Idoido(Heard from my classmate that its nice), Constantine(heard from my sis that its nice) and A moment to remember(A Korean flick, sounds like a walk to remember, which is a very nice movie). So where is seoul raiders? I watched it le haa.. and its pretty nice n entertaining I must say. Initially was thinking it wasnt going to be a nice show, cos I watched tyoko raiders before, but hey, this is nicer, though its still the same old plotless type of chinese movie, and the action and funny scenes more than make up for it. Definitely recommended.

Theres 3 quizzes coming up next week, so pretty much stressed abt it.
Pretty much aimless these few days too.. moody mood...sighz.. so much thinkings to sort out..damn....

went to one of my class early today, then me and my frens went inside the seminar room, and saw a grp rehearsing their presentation, so I was there watching them, n saw a wrong word in the slide.. so couldnt help myself, and pointed out the mistake to them haa...
Anyway, cny is coming, in less than 24hrs time. Every cny, the only thing I look forward to is the renunion dinner, cos that is when I see my close relative once a year one. Other than that, I dont really go around visiting ppl one.
Made pineapple tarts last sunday too, think it turned out quite nice, but of course, the main effort was from my mum la, credit goes to her. I was just munching away while the tart was coming out from the oven haa... tts why I have 2 ulcers now...jialat... sore throat is awaiting too....
nightime, tata..
