Time
I once read an article on the paradox of time, you might have seen it in one of those forwarded emails; that technology advancement means we have more machines that do our work in less hours, but humans have less and less time instead.
Truth is, while we have machines that make things easier and save more time, we also see some things created that take up even more of our time. The black box that human know as tv is one of them. So is the computer. Though these stuffs have it's usefulness, we unconsciously spend thousands of hours on these when the time could be put to better use. It also reduces human interaction to a min, some on a virtual level. Somehow lol is supposed to mean the person is laughing out loud, but it is not hard to find the person expressionless in front of the screen.
Joyce bf doesn't have a tv at home, because he thinks it's pointless to waste your day that way. I think it's a good thing. It's time we make use of our time to better use.
On a sidenote, I brought my iphone to the service centre today, because only one side of the speaker seems to be working, only to be told by the singtel guy that the other side is the mike.. how embarassing.. -_-..

Office Politics
Every office have its politics, and mine is no exception. While I often stay out of such discussion, it is still discerning to hear people engaging in such. We all know it is not nice to talk behind someone's back, but why do they still do so? If there is a problem, we should always face it head-on. Such discussion only serve to sway public opinion against the subject in question, and he/she does not even know what goes wrong. Its just not fair.

South African rape survey shock
South Africa's government has been urged to solve the rape epidemic
One in four South African men questioned in a survey said they had raped someone, and nearly half of them admitted more than one attack.
The study, by the country's Medical Research Council, also found three out of four who admitted rape had attacked for the first time during their teens.
It said practices such as gang rape were common because they were considered a form of male bonding.
The MRC spoke to 1,738 men in KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape provinces.
The research was conducted in both rural and urban areas and included all racial groups.
Using an electronic device to keep the results anonymous, the study found that 73% of those who admitted rape said they had carried out their first assault before the age of 20.
Almost half who said they had carried out a rape admitted they had done so more than once.

One in 20 men surveyed said they had raped a woman or girl in the last year.
Professor Rachel Jewkes of the MRC, who carried out the research, told the BBC's World Today programme: "The absolute imperative is we have to change the underlying social attitudes that in a way have created a norm that coercing women into sex is on some level acceptable.
"We know that we have a higher prevalence of rape in South Africa than there is in other countries.
"And it's partly rooted in our incredibly disturbed past and the way that South African men over the centuries have been socialised into forms of masculinity that are predicated on the idea of being strong and tough and the use of force to assert dominance and control over women, as well as other men."
She added that all the victims in the main survey were said to be women, but participants were also interviewed about male rape.
'Sad state of affairs'
The study found that one in 10 men said they had been raped by other men.

Some 3% of the men interviewed said they had coerced a man or a boy into sex.
The participants were also tested for HIV and the authors of the survey were surprised that men who had raped were not more likely to test positive for the virus.
Mbuyiselo Botha, from the South African Men's Forum, which campaigns for women's rights, told the BBC's Focus on Africa programme that any view of women as "fair game" had to be challenged.
Mr Botha, a father of two girls himself, said: "I think that yes, the figures are that high and for us, for me in particular, that is a very sad state of affairs.
"It means that we continue in South Africa to be one of the highest capitals of rape in the world.
"I don't think it's cultural per se; I think it has to do with how a lot of us men worldwide were raised. The issues of dominance against women, issues of inequality, are pervasive and you find them throughout the world."
South Africa's government has been repeatedly criticised for failing to address the country's rape epidemic.
A recent trade union report said a child was being raped in South Africa every three minutes with the vast majority of those cases going unreported.

//Food//
This post is about food, food that Kris and me cooked together. You see, we have been preparing for life after marriage..
No lah!! Just that we like to do some cooking ourselves once in a while. And cooking does bring our the character in you. You see, we have different styles of cooking, different school of thought (from different mums), what I think is right she thinks it shouldnt be that way. So sometimes we have disagreements over how big the fire is, how long the duration should be, etc etc. But at least the food turns out ok so far, we are still alive.
So heres what we have for the last few months:
Pineapple tarts, from my mum formula of course. (We are just workers here haa)
Thats how fast her hand is on the dough
Assorted Tempura
Pad Thai, from the mixture I bought from Thailand
This is Alric Speciality Fried Rice, recommended by chef
And heres the chef I mentioned abt, Teriyaki chicken comes from her
And our latest venture, Pasta =)

I like to people-watch. Used to do it alot in the past, but not so in recent years. Its kind of intriguing to think what other people are thinking, what type of lifes they are leading, the future they are looking towards to. Becos it can be so completely different from what you been through. Changi Airport is a good place to do that, cause you see the behaviour and language of people from different countries. Some of them here for work, some returning home, and also those going on a vacation. Happiness, sadness, relief, concern.. all the different emotions are written on their face if you look hard enough.
Oh yah.. my MD just announced yesterday we are going to move office, to Tampines, jus beside the interchange. Sianz..
