A friend of mine posted his views on cycling some days ago, joining the debate against cyclist in Singapore.

It baffles me sometimes, why Singaporeans have so many things to say against cyclist. Behind an avid cyclist myself, I certainly see no wrong in cycling where it deem fit, be it on the road or the pavement.
The lack of coutesy and tolerance in Singaporeans is especially prevalent when I went overseas to China and Japan, where cycling is a very large part of their life. Large number of cyclists are on the streets everyday, but they seem to have no issue with cyclists. Even in minor accidents, they will just smile at each other, and move on.
Sometimes pedestrains just act like this is their grandfather road. Drivers act like terrors from hell. So where does that leave cyclists?
Singaporeans just lack the civil mindedness, not just in giving way to cyclists, but also in many other areas like giving way on the escalators, spitting, blasting music on buses and trains, etc.

Had a friday night bbq at Tat's castle, which was suggested by me just a week ago, all thanks to jianliang and tat for organising in such short notice.
And heres tat the castle man:

This bbq have some first times. This is the first time we use a hairdryer to fuel the charcoal haha.. And I can tell you, its effective k. No more frentic fanning, or blowing to keep the fire going. A simple hairflyer can make all this an easy job.
And you can create fireworks at the same time too.
Another first is to the way you bbq asparatus. Look at tat innovative idea:
And.. who will go and buy dou ya for bbq one???? Except these guys.. just because I said I like the douyas when we ate at PepperLunch 2 wks back. They dont buy the stingray or satays I requested, instead they got me this.
And so, I cooked this using Teriyaki sauce, some honey, some light soya sauce. Basically just anything I can get my hands on. But then.. it still taste much better with the brown honey sauce from pepperlunch, seriously.
Anyway, its still fun to gather around for a bbq like this once in a while, and also the same old topic of asking Kel to look for another job haa..
We are not the only ones there haa..

Decided to go back Pengerang again, since I spent little time exploring the place 2 wks ago, and off I go, with Kris, Shirley and WeeKar. Kudos to them being spontaneous to make it with just a day notice.
Heres the couple

This place is more than just seafood. Theres a mango farm, and the mangoes there are delicious~!
After which we went over to the ostrich farm, which was opened by a Singaporean actually. There are lots of ostrich there
And do you know that the shell of the ostrich egg are 0.5cm thick? And it is equilvalent to 38 chicken eggs?
And so we went to test it, by stand on it~! Its true~!
And after that, we eat them!
And not to forget the seafood
Its fun to go there really, especially if you never been there before.

This started 2 weeks ago. I was going to Ubin 2 wkends ago, and was at the Changi Jetty when I realised that besides Ubin, theres another place that you can go from there. And its Pengerang, a part of Malaysia! YES, you can get to Malaysia from Changi Jetty!!
And so off we go today~!
After some research, apparently this place is popular with Singaporeans cyclist. There are many ppl who brought their bike over to cycle. And it is also popular with ppl looking for cheap seafood. The food we had costs us RM$119, which is just S$50.
This town is called Sg Rengit. Its the nearest to Pengerang Jetty, and the more famous Desaru is a 35mins drive from here. There are also several farms to visit here, like the Mango farm, Ostrich farm, and fruit farms, but unfortunately, we did not have time to visit them, so we only hang around the town.
Nevertheless, it was a nice weekend getaway for cheap food. (The transport cost covers it though)
If anyone wants to go there, I'm on.
