One of the excesses in life, have always been on splurging on food. When I was young, I always lamented at how people could spend so much on a meal, when it could be easily and tastefully settled at a coffeeshop next door. It doesn't make sense when the gst paid at this places can easily get you a pack of noodles or so. But going into uni, and now working life, I myself is guilty of this too, being influenced by my peers, and by my larger purchasing power.

But rationally it just doesn't make sense. There was once when my boss wanted to treat us to a brunch at Fullerton just because we hit our budget; I told him straight that I'm not going because, one, It's coming out from his own pocket, and two, it's doesn't make sense to spend so much on food, told him to give my portion to charity instead. Think my colleagues curse me for this cos we ended up eating at somewhere cheaper I think(cant really rem).

The thing is, I get more satisfaction from eating simple hawker fares anytime. Had a meal of stingray n kangkong the other day, heavenly.. And another meal at Btimah hawker consisting of carrot cake, oyster omelette, satay, chengtng.. shiok!

I rather spend the money to travel and feast for my eyes =)
